Dental Implants

A dental implant is like an artificial tooth root that takes over the function of a real root. The implants are made of titanium. They are very durable and are well accepted by the human body. After dental implants are placed and the surrounding bone has healed, anchor dentures, bridges and crowns can be constructed.

There are many benefits to Dental Implants. One such benefit comes from filling the space of a missing tooth. We can eliminate the need to involve the adjacent teeth through the use of implants like a fixed bridge. Implants can also eliminate the need to have a partial denture.

If you are missing all of your teeth in the upper or lower arch implants can help hold a removable appliance in place securely, eliminating the slipping and movement that occurs with dentures. This eliminates some of the key worries of dentures, including poor fit, gum irritation and pain from exposed nerves.

Computer Guided Dental Implant Surgery

For some situations such as placement of multiple implants Dr. March utilizes 3-D imaging software to assess bone structure and map out the areas that would best receive the implant(s). We have partnered with imaging centers in Central Ohio that will take the low radiation Cat-Scan. From that image we can virtually “place” the implant(s) with our software and have a stint made that will allow us to place the implant with fantastic precision.
